Yankees Game
The Twins scored four in the first but the Yankees took three back on a solo homer by Grandy and a two run shot from Tex.
Jeter singled to score Nunez and tie the game at 4 in the second, and Grandy then launched a homer to untie the game, 6-4 Yankees.
In the fourth, Granderson homered for the third time, 7-4.
In the sixth, Doumit homered to score Morneau, 7-6.
In the bottom of the inning, Nuny walked and Derek Jeter came on facing Alex Burnett and Núñez stole second. Jeter grounded out and Granderson singled to move Nuny to third. A-Rod was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Robbie Canó. Canó killed another rally with a double play.
Rafael Soriano came on, Jamey Carroll struck out and Joe Mauer singled before Willingham singled. Morneau struck out and Ryan Doumit struck out to end the inning!
In the bottom of the seventh, Mark Teixeira singled and Swiaher flew out to center on a DEEP fly ball. Raúl Ibañez singled and Russell Martin hit into a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning.
In the eighth, D-Rob came on and promptly gave up a double to Danny Valencia. Chris Parmelee struck out and Sean Burroughs grounded out on a fair ball up the first base line. Denard Span grounded to short to end the inning.
In the bottom of the inning, Eduardo Núñez flew out to Willingham in left-center field. Derek Jeter grounded out. Curtis Granderson singled for his fifth hit of the game, but he was thrown out trying to steal second to end the inning.
Mariano Rivera came on to pitch the ninth and promptly got Jamey Carroll to hit a comebacker to him for the first out. Joe Mauer grounded to shortstop and Josh Willingham popped to Russell Martin to end the game.
Curtis Granderson is MY player of the game for his three home run performance.
Ballgame over, Yankees win! THEEEEEEEEEEEE YANKEES WIN!
