Mets Game #6

The Nationals scored first in the second inning when Johan Santana threw a wild pitch to send DeRosa home. Although he recovered and did not allow another run through the sixth inning, the Mets never did. In the seventh, the Nationals loaded the bases and DeRosa walked to score a run, followed by a Chad Tracy groundout to score Xavier Nady in the eighth. 3-0 Nationals.

The Mets were shut down during the game, their offense look anemic. Miguel Batista loaded the bases in the ninth inning and gave way to Tim Byrdak, who induced a pop up for the first out, struck out Nady and walked Jesus Flores to give the Nats a 4-0 lead. Hairston caught a fly ball to end the inning and the Mets anemic offense came up for their last gasp in the bottom of the inning. Josh Thole grounded out, Kirk Nieuwenheis struck out, and Ronny Cedeno struck out to end the game.
