Yankees Game 4

In the first inning, the Yankees scored early when Jeter singled, followed shortly by an A-Rod single and Teixeria RBI single. 1-0 Bombers!

In the second, the Orioles tied the game with a Matt Weiters solo homer before Russell Martin hit an RBI single, then moved Andruw Jones to third on an error by Reimold in the bottom of the inning. Jones scored on a sac fly by Eduardo Núñez, Martin moved to third on the play. Derek Jeter's double scored Martin. 4-1 Yankees.

The fifth was scoreless and in the top of the sixth, Andruw Jones homered to left field and the game was 5-1. The bottom of the inning was scoreless.

In the seventh, the first two hitters were retired before Granderson hit a double, who scored on a single by Brett Gardner. 6-1 Yankees! In the bottom of the inning Nick Swisher misplayed a ball hit by Robert Andino which allowed him to go to second. He scored on an error by Brett Gardner. Nova retired the next two hitters.

In the eighth, Núñez was hit by a pitch and Jeter got a base hit. Swisher grounded to the mound to force Nuny out. The Yankees had the bases loaded before ARod hit into a double play.

D-Rob began the eighth inning by striking out Nick Markaikis, and Adam Jones before Weiters and Reynolds singled. Robertson worked a 3-2 count on Betemit grounded out. A great performance by the birthday boy, David Robertson, who turns 27 today!

The Yankees went 1-2-3 in the ninth.

Future Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera came on and got Chris Davis to pop up to third, Robert Andino doubled, Reimold struck out, and JJ Hardy flew out to give the Yankees their first victory.
