The Giants' Ángel Pagan grounded to first and Melky Cabrera walked. Pablo Sandoval was out trying to stretch a single into a double and Melky scored, 1-0 Giants. Buster Posey homered. 2-0 Giants. Schierholtz singled, and Brandon Belt popped out to end the inning. Kirk led off the home first by grounding to short. Daniel Murphy grounded out and David Wright walked. Lucas Duda struck out to end the inning. In the second, Burris grounded to short, Crawford singled, and Tim Lincecum/Cawford combined for a strike 'em out throw 'em out double play. In the home half of the inning, Ike Davis struck out looking, Josh Thole popped out to left-center and Rubén Tejada walked and stole second. Mike Baxter doubled and Tejada scored, 2-1 Giants. Miguel Batista chopped a ball over Lincecum but was thrown out at first to end the inning. In the third, Pagan fouled out to Thole, Melky grounded to second before Pablo Sandoval singled on an error by Ike. Buster Posey walked and Schierholz homered, 5-1.
