Mets @ Cubs Game 75
The Mets put two men on by singles, and Josh Thole singled to score a run, 1-0. Dillon Gee singled to score Murphy, 2-0!!
Soriano had an RBI groundout in the third, 2-1.
Valbuena tied the game with a double but was tagged out at third to end the inning on a single by Darwin Barney. Nevertheless the Cubs took a 3-2 lead.
Josh Thole led off the fourth with a bloop single and Dillon Gee followed with a walk as Randy Wells (surprisingly) departed. Rubén Tejada walked to load the bases and Wright had a sac fly and Thole scored to tie the game at 3. Lucas Duda hit into a double play to end the inning.
The Mets allowed two singles with two outs but Anthony Rizzo doubled to score a run, 4-3 Cubs. The Cubs loaded the bases with a hit batter but LaHare struck out to end the inning.
Scott Maine remained in the game as pitcher and recorded a flyout from Ike before an error allowed Scott Hairston to reach first. Daniel Murphy flew out before Hairston stole second. Thole flew out to end the inning.
Torres singled in the eighth and stole second. Kirk grounded out as Torres took third. Tejada grounded out to end the inning.
The Cubs scored two on errors in the eighth, 5-3.
The Mets lost 5-3.
