Yankees vs. Royals
Horrendous Hiroki allowed a two-out, two-run homer to Mike Moustakas in the first.
In the third, Hosmer hit an RBI single, 3-0 Royals. With one out, Cano made a specatcular catch to save a run! Hiroki loaded the bases with two outs in the third.
In the home third, Martin and Jeter hit back-to-back singles, and Granderson walked to load the bases with no outs for Robbie Cano! Cano struck out, A-Rod struck out, and Ibanez nearly launched a slam, but the ball was caught at the wall to end the inning.
Eric Chavez doubled in the fourth, and moved to third on a passed ball/wild pitch, but Russell Martin grounded out to end the inning.
Hiroki put two runners on in the sixth and departed.
A-Rod led off the sixth with a double, his 500th, and moved to third on a flyout, but did not score.
The Yankees brought in Failing Fred, (which is unofficially conceding the game), and he promptly gave up a homer to Francoer on his second pitch, 5-0 Royals.
Martin doubled to lead off the seventh, followed by a lineout by Jeter and the Yankees were even more pathetic.
Failing Fred allowed a run on a wild pitch in the eighth, 6-0.
The Yankees need to score runs to make the playoffs, and it seems they will not do so this season. Now in fourth or fifth place, they NEED an offense quick!
