Mets vs. Astros
The Astros scored five runs on a two-run homer by Jed Lowrie in the first and a three run homer by Snyder in the second.
Justin Turner doubled in the fourth, Wright lined to third, and Scott Hairston walked as Turner stole third base. Andres Torres singled and scored Turner, 5-1 Astros. Josh Thole singled and scored Hairston, 5-2 Astros. Duda struck out to end the inning.
Miguel Batista came on in the fourth and pitched a scoreless inning.
Wright singled in the fifth and Hairston came up as the go-ahead with two outs. Hairston singled and scored Wright, 5-3 Houston!
The Astros went scoreless in the fifth.
Batista loaded the bases with two outs in the sixth, and Ramon Ramirez walked in a run, 6-3. He ended the inning with a popout to second.
Ramirez set the Astros down 1-2-3 in the seventh. Wright singled to start the top of the eighth, Hairston grounded into a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning.
Jon Rauch came on to pitch the eighth, and the Mets went 1-2-3 in the ninth to end the game and give the Mets another loss.
