It's ALIVE!

The disaster that is the New York Mets organization has proved itself alive this week, re-signing RHP Miguel Batista to a one-year deal earlier this week.

Now, they have re-signed OF Scott Hairston to a 1-year, $1,500,000 deal. He hit .235 with 7 homers and 24 RBIs as a bench player and spot starter last season, and provided a well-needed spark to the Mets offense until he was injured. His three pinch-hit home runs were one short of a Mets record.

This move brings back a proven, quality hitter with power, who has already become one of my favorite Mets. If he can remain healthy throughout the 2012 season, he can put up much, much bigger and better numbers.
