The Yankees have hired former Cubs GM Jim Hendry as a special assignment scout. This move makes absolutely NO SENSE! We already have a bad GM, we don't need anymore!
The Diamondback have signed C Miguel Montero to a 1-year, $5,900,000 deal, and 2B Ryan Roberts to a 1-year $2,012,500, both received arbritration.
The Phillies have signed RHP Chad Qualls to a 1-year, $1,150,000 deal.
In a move that puzzles me greatly, the Texas Rangers have signed manager Ron Washington to a 2-year contract extention. He has brought the Rangers to two consecutive World Series. However, in two games last season when the Cardinals were down to their last strike, his pitchers failed, eventually costing the team a World Series championship.
