Hot Stove

The New York Yankees agreed to terms with RHP Joba Chamberlain on a 1-year, $1,675,000 contract. Joba went 2-0 with a 2.83 ERA in 27 games during 2011 before being shelved with Tommy John surgery in June. This move bolsters the Yankee bullpen tremendously, and if Joba can return in 2012 healthy for an entire season, he WILL be a force to be reckoned with in a strong bullpen. This move likely seals the fate of Luis "El Chicote" Ayala, as he will not return in 2012 if Joba is healthy. He did well last season, and he will find a job somewhere else as a successful pitcher.

OUT AT THE PLATE!

They have also agreed with David Robertson on a one-year, $1,600,000 deal. This was a no-brainer, as he went 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA in 2011.

Robertson and I at a telethon last February.
