Yankees @ Red Sox
Coming in with a chance to bury Boston, the Yankees kick off a four-game series from beautiful Fenway Park in Boston!
Derek Jeter singled and Granderson followed suit. A-Rod was hit by a pitch to load the bases with no outs! Robbie Canó walked and the Yankees led 1-0! Mark Teixeira singled and the Yankees took a 3-0 lead! Nick Swisher had a sac fly, 4-0! Raúl Ibáñez singled and Eric Chávez had a sac fly, 5-0 Yankees! Russell Martin grounded out to end the inning.
Daniel Nava doubled off of the Green Monster and moved up on a wild pitch. Ryan Kalish had a sac fly, 5-1. David Ortíz singled and Cody Ross singled on an error. Adrian Gonzalez doubled, 5-2. Saltalamacchia homered, 5-5. After a 43 minute inning, the second was upon us...
Granderson tripled in the second and A-Rod grounded out as Grandy scored, 6-5 Yankees! Canó had a ground rule double.
Ortíz had an RBI single, 6-5 Sawx.
Nick Punto doubled and moved to third on a groundout.
A-Rod and Cano singled and pulled off a double steal! Nick Swisher singled as A-Rod was thrown out at home.
Gomez singled, 7-6 Sawx.
Granderson singled and A-Rod followed suit. Canó struck out.
Mark Teixeira tripled, 8-7 Yankees! Ibáñez doubled, 9-7 Yankees!!
Chávez had an RBI single, 10-7.
Cody Ross homered in the seventh, 10-8.
Rafael Soriano collected a four-out save and the Yankees defeated the Red Sox on an electric offensive night at Fenway Pahk.
