Yankees @ Mets- Back in the New York Groove

The Mets put two men on and Murphy moved to third on an error by Jeter. They failed to score. Captain Kirk homered to lead off the second, 1-0. Thole had an RBI groundout in the fourth, 2-0. The Mets had the bases loaded in the sixth with two outs, and Chris Young singled, 3-0. Nova departed and Rapada took over. Tex walked and Swisher doubled in the seventh for his 1,000th career hit. Ibáñez homered to tie the game at 3. Young departed. Jon Rauch allowed a homer to Chávez, 4-3 Yanks. Valdespin doubled in the seventh, and Wright followed with a groundout. Duda and Murphy struck out to end the inning. Soriano put two on with one out in the ninth and Lucas Duda and Murphy flew out to end the game.
