Why It's Tebow Time

With the Jets facing the Broncos tomorrow, I felt this was a good time to analyze Tebow and his future in Denver.

Let's face it. The Denver Broncos haven't had a franchise quarterback since John Elway retired after winning Superbowl XXXIII in 1999. That's quite a long time to wait. According to Answers.com, the Broncos have now had 7 different quarterbacks since the retirement of Elway:

Brian Griese
Chris Miller
Gus Frerrotte
Jake Plummer
Jay Cutler
Kyle Orton

and finally,
Tim Tebow

During that time, they have won ONE, and only one playoff game (in three appearances).

Isn't it time to find a successor?

Well, they have him.

Tim Tebow is that him. He can pass and run, has the benefit of an impressive college career, and is a young man on a team that hasn't been good in over a decade. With Kyle Orton only under contract for this season, and the Broncos seemingly not going anywhere this year, it's time to admit that they need to undergo a radical change.

And that all starts at the quarterback position.
