The Texas Rangers signed RHP Yu Darvish to an astounding 5-year, $60,000,000 contract with an option for 2017. He was 18-6 with a 1.44 ERA and 276 K's in 2011.
The Brewers have avoided arbitration with former Mets RHP K-Rod. He had previously accepted the arbitration offered to him last month to the surprise of fans, sportswriters, and honestly, I think even the Brewers' front office as well. Thus, they have avoided a sticky situation. He could still be traded before opening day, however. He is 9 saves away from 300.
