"Find out what you love, go do it, do it better than anybody else, and you'll find that there will be all kinds of people who will love you for it. If you do it well, if you do it dependably, if you can be counted on, if you can be trusted, if your stuff is great, if your work is great, there will be people who will love you more than you ever dreamed."
Adapted from a quote by Rush Limbaugh.
The New York media and fans, (myself included) receive tons of criticism for being hard on players and coaches. We are often called out for being "too harsh" and as a reason why some athletes hate to or never will play for a New York team.
But we also love our homies.
Who chanted "Paul O'Neill", when it looked like he was playing his final game at Yankee Stadium in 2001?
The New York media and fans love those athletes who perform well and consistently give their all.
Is that too much to ask?
