I know this is a bit late, but...
Former Yankees first baseman Tino Martinez deserves to be in the Hall of Fame!
Career Stats:
*271 Career Average
*339 Homers
*1,271 RBIs
*2-time All Star
*4-time World Series Champion (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000)
*1997 Home Run Derby Champion
In addition to,
*Many all star and gold glove SNUBS!
*Saving the Yankees' asses with a home run in Game 4 of the 2001 World Series (the game is most remembered for Jeter's Mr. November home run though).
* A Grand Slam in the 1998 World Series
"SWUNG ON AND DRILLED DEEP TO RIGHT, THERE IT GOES! THAT BALL IS...GONE! A GRAND SLAM, INTO THE UPPER DECK, FOR TINO MARTINEZ! AND THE YANKEES LEAD, 9-5! SEVEN RUNS, IN THE SEVENTH INNING, IN THE FIRST GAME, OF THE BEST OF SEVEN WORLD SERIES, OH WHAT A HOME RUN, FOR TINO MARTINEZ!" (Michael Kay)
My bias toward the Dynastic Yankees will NOT be satisfied without Tino in the Hall of Fame! The Yankees have not seen the likes of clutch hitters since the Dynasty ended.
